Do They Still Need a Checkup?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pediatrician visits aren\u2019t just for sick kids. In fact, healthy children still need to visit their pediatrician regularly for wellness checkups to ensure they stay healthy. After all, these visits are the best way for your child\u2019s medical team to monitor their health and development and catch problems early on. While you can easily find the American Academy of Pediatrics\u2019 well-child care visit schedule online, for easy reference, your child should come in for a wellness checkup at,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three-five days old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One month old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two months old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Four months old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Six months old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nine months old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12 months old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15 months old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>24 months old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>30 months old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three years old<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your child reaches three years old, they only need to come in once a year for wellness checkups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Is Involved in a Wellness Checkup?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When your child comes into their pediatrician\u2019s office, they will first check and record their height, weight and vital signs (e.g., heart rate; blood pressure). Your pediatrician will also go through your child\u2019s medical history and family history to understand their current health and any preexisting conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From there, your pediatrician will perform a comprehensive physical evaluation of your child, checking everything from reflexes and nerve function to the heart and lungs.
